Please note: You should already have a deployment plan with sensors marked and measurements provided. If you do not have a floor plan, please email install@density.io.
Open Area
How to think about obstructions
- Items hanging from the ceiling below the sensor may obstruct the field of view
- The sensor will perform best if it has an unobstructed field of view around the torso height of the people it is intended to measure
-
Using a laser measure, stand in the exact location the yellow measurements on the floor plan indicate. Look directly up and note if there are any obstructions (lighting fixtures, fans, HVAC, or other items attached to the ceiling).
-
Fill out the measurements and photo sections for each page in your deployment plan
If there are no obstructions: Mark the location as approved in the deployment plan
If there are obstructions:
- Locate the sensor’s slide in your deployment plan and add a note about what obstruction is in the area
- Measure the ceiling height, height of the obstruction, and location of the obstruction and include the details in the notes
- Take a picture of the area (see guide below)
Taking pictures for Open Area
-
Pictures should show the entire area, floor to ceiling, including any possible obstructions such as HVAC, lighting fixtures, and access points
-
Measure AFF (above finished floor) to ceiling
-
Measure any notable obstructions
-
If a lighting and HVAC schedule is not available, note the height of obstructions and distance from reference points (walls are preferred)
Entry Sensor
Thinking about obstructions:
Things like exit signs, door swings and items hanging from the ceiling may obstruct the field of view
- At each doorway, take the following measurements and photos.
-
Locate the appropriate doorway in the deployment plan and add the four photos and 5 measurements
Example photos for Entry
Important note: Capture both the ceiling and floor in each photo
Examples of good photos
Picture shows:
- full width of doorway
- height of doorway
- ceiling
- obstructions
- surrounding environment
- walls bounding the doorway
Picture shows:
- depth of door frame
- width of doorway
- height of doorway
- obstructions above the door
- surrounding environment

Examples of photos that don't meet requirements
Picture doesn't show:
- top of doorway
- ceiling or wall surface we can mount to
Picture doesn't show:
- ceiling and obstructions above the threshold
