Correcting a Waffle Sensor that Moved Locations

During your Waffle setup, you calibrated the zone in the Density Spaces app. This is a critical step, as it establishes what the Waffle can see and removes obstructions like shiny or moving objects (metal, fans, etc.) so that your count remains accurate.

If you need to move the Waffle in the same space after setup, or your Waffle has unit has accidentally been moved to a new location, reapplying the zone is a critical step.

Reinstalling the Sensor: My Waffle Fell

If your Waffle fell due to the adhesive strip:

  • Follow the guiding lines on the mount to ensure the adhesive strip is installed in the correct direction. The lines are vertical for the wall mount and horizontal for the undermount.
  • Check that the adhesive strip can get a firm hold on the installation location. Undermounts may be affected by a curved TV bezel or by being installed overhanging an edge.
  • Clean the location with an alcohol wipe to remove all dust, ensure the area is clean and dry, before proceeding to the next step, and ensure you are firmly pressing, allowing the adhesive to bond for 30 seconds. If your mounting location has an unusual texture, allow the strip to set without the Waffle overnight before reinstalling.
  • If you are installing under a desk, we recommend installing at an angle from either corner at the back of the desk. This reduces the likelihood of someone bumping into the sensor.

Reinstalling the Sensor: My Waffle Was Moved

If your Waffle was moved after setup by someone in the space:

  • Check that the Waffle is not blocking the functionality of the space before reinstalling in the same location (e.g., the ability to see a full screen, easily knocked under a desk, or the only outlet in a space).
  • Consider screwing the sensor into the wall using the provided mount plate, and locking the set screw to make it difficult to remove.

Calibrating the Sensor

  1. Securely reinstall your Waffle
  2. Go to the space in the Density Spaces app
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the serial number
  4. At the top of the page, click Edit Zone
  5. Unplug your sensor and plug it back in so the LED goes blue
  6. Define your measurement zone by dragging the edges to either the dimensions of the room or by walking to each corner and dragging the edges to cover your dot
  7. Walk out of the space fully and click Detect Interferences
  8. Mute the interferences
  9. You have successfully recalibrated your Waffle
