To check the status of your sensors
To bring your sensor back online, you will first need to look at the color of the LED light on the front of the sensor to determine the reason for the error.
Troubleshooting by LED status
No light
The sensor is not receiving power.
White
Your sensor is operating normally, or has not been set up yet. If you are not receiving data, check that the sensor is connected to a space. If not, follow the steps in the Density Spaces app to add it to a new or existing space. You will need to unplug and replug in the sensor to activate Bluetooth, shown by a Blue LED.
Blue
A solid blue LED means the sensor is ready for provisioning and Bluetooth is active. This is the typical state once the sensors are plugged into a power source, but will turn off after 5 minutes. Use the Density Spaces app found in the Apple App Store, or at mobile.density.io to set up your device.
Blinking Blue
A blinking blue LED means that the Spaces app and the sensor are communicating via Bluetooth.

Ensure the following addresses have been whitelisted:
- *.density.io
- *.s3.amazonaws.com
- *.pool.ntp.org (if applicable)
- connman.net
- connectivitycheck.gstatic.com
- 8.8.8.8 (if applicable)
- 8.8.4.4 (if applicable)
- Check that the device's MAC address is whitelisted. To find the MAC address, go to Settings > Sensors from Atlas, and search for your sensor. You can download the full list of your sensors and details by clicking Export CSV.
- If you have not installed the sensor and need the MAC address, please email your Project Manager or support@density.io with the serial number(s).
- If your sensor was already installed and working, reapply the WiFi. You can do this by going to the space in Density Spaces, scrolling to the bottom of the page, and clicking the serial number. Click Edit WiFi at the top of the screen.
Blinking Purple
Blinking purple means there is no DNS. The sensor has an IP address, but cannot resolve domain names.

Red
- If you have not completed the setup within 5 minutes of plugging in the sensor, the Bluetooth will disconnect, and the LED will turn red. Unplug and replug in your sensor to reactivate Bluetooth.
- Check that your internet is working properly. Connect another device to the network to see if it can reach the internet.
- Do you need to whitelist the MAC address for the device? (see Purple)
