Waffle in the Workplace

Overview:

Waffle is a plug-and-play sensor that installs in minutes—no wires, no fuss. Designed for simplicity, it measures occupancy in small zones (max 18x18 ft), with capped counts: 1 person, 2 people, or a group (3+).

Top use cases:

  • Desks: Mount under desks to track utilization across the day. Great for understanding desk demand or showing real-time availability to employees.

  • Phone booths: Stick under the desk or on the wall inside the booth to track if it’s occupied. Helps teams reduce interruptions and improve focus space availability.

  • Meeting rooms & open spaces: Mount under the display monitor or on a side wall to monitor occupancy of small to mid-sized rooms—ideal for tracking solo brainstorms, 2-person syncs, or 3+ team huddles.

  • A/B testing layouts: Try different furniture, tech setups or room configurations to see which layouts people prefer. Need to prove the ROI on new furniture or room setups? Waffle helps you measure before you invest.

Things to note:

  • Waffle provides presence and capped counts (1/2/3+). For the full headcount of a space, use the Open Area sensor.
  • It’s ideal for real-time visibility (latency under 1 second) and historical usage trends.
  • Looking to track entries and exits or floor and building level count? The Entry sensor is your friend.

Waffle benefits:

  • Plug and play: Install in minutes—no ceiling mounts or wires required.
  • Flexible: Move it from one area to another to test, optimize, and learn.
  • Real-time & historical: See what’s happening now, or dig into usage over days, weeks, or months.
